We hope you enjoyed your international flight. We will be at the airport to welcome you and transfer you to your hotel, where you will stay overnight. Let’s start by learning a new word: “Tongasoa”, read it Toongasoo, which means Welcome. Our tour will begin in Antananarivo, where are we will depart by car, but before catching a hotel we will visit in the Ivato crocodile farm, also called “Croc Farm”. Spanning three hectares, this lush green oasis is ideal for you to relax.

This morning, depending on the flight schedule, we will proceed to your transfer to the airport and flight to Nosy Be.

Transfer by car to the harbour, where we boarding on the catamaran sailboat moored at the crater (Ambatoloaka, Nosy Be) and we will sail directly to Nosy Tanikely Marine Reserve. Start gathering highlights from today on: enjoy exploring the beaches, swimming in the sea before going for a walk along the coast. Relax.

Nosy Tanikely Marine Reserve characterized by rich coral bottom frequented by sea turtles, well-known site for the scuba diver. Equipped with masks, fins and snorkels, we will take the time to explore the extraordinary seabed of the lagoon and we stroll on the small islet to explore it.

The place is perfective, you will can appreciate this beginning of trip. Snorkeling, bathing, and lunch on the plage, then sailing to the Nosy Komba (volcanic formation island of 680 m altitude, known for its handicraft market and its lemurs reserve). Stunning place of anchorage. If you want, we can make an evening stroll on the island and in the forest for search famous lemurs Macaco.

Early morning, we will go ashore to walk on the island and visit the small reserve to see lemurs, tortoises, boas, and so on. Don’t be afraid, our tour guide will be there to lead you all the way! Back on board, we raise the anchor and we will sail until we reach the island of Nosy Ankazoberavina, an island, with the sugar loaf of Nosy Ankivonjy and Nosy Antsoha it is a small archipelago which was declared marine reserve, protected, and characterized by sea turtles nests on the beach and lemurs roaming the forest. This island is surrounded by hot waters of the channel of Mozambique in a zone where abound the sharks, the tunas and dolphins. As Ankazoberavina is completely surrounded by a coral sea bed of great beauty, it thus shelters, in its transparent waters, a very big variety of fishes. It is a well protected ecosystem.

The island of Ankazoberavina is an important breeding center of Sea Turtles.Two types of turtles come to nest on the island the green turtle Chelonia Mydas and the hawksbill turtle Ertmochelys Imbricata. After incubation for 60 days you can witness the extraordinary spectacle of about 150-200 turtles running towards the sea defying predatory birds, crabs, fish to get to the reef.

After lunch, visit of Nosy Anchoa and Ankyvonjy islands among this small archipelago. They are populated by sea birds of different species (frigate, sole, eagle fisher) and calm navigation in direction of Russians Bay. Russian Bay is a fascinating area full of mystery and intrigue. The marine environment is remarkable for its beauty and biodiversity. This region is known for the presence of dolphins, whale sharks and manta rays. The humpback whales mate and give birth in this area. The beaches also serve as nesting place for sea turtles while many fringing coral reefs are real natural aquariums. The marine life in the bay itself is spectacular, offering wonderful snorkeling and diving, especially on the reefs outside the entrance.

Anecdotally: the Bay of the Russians owes its name of Russian imperial squadron which was left St Petersburg, and who made it stopover from December 1904 till March 1905.

This morning take advantage of the boat and make stopover on the magnificent beach of Ampohana, breakfast on board or on the beach. The peninsula of Ankatafa, the entrance of the magnificent Bay of the Russians, have inner sea of 8,5 x 6,5 km. The Bay of Russians has beautiful white sand beaches lined with coconut trees and filao. In late morning we departure for Nosy Iranja, the most distant island making up Nosy Be archipelago. By leaving the Bay of the Russians, we can stop in the sugar loaf, the isolated and steep volcanic island at the foot of which you can devote to the enjoyment of the snorkeling or scuba diving.

A descent in the South of 2 hours, brings us to Nosy Iranja (the island of the tortoises). This island is classified as one of 30 more beautiful islands of the world. In fact, this are two paradisiac islands (nosy Iranja be - the big and nosy Iranja kely - the small), connected by a sumptuous white sand bank. Nosy Iranja is loved by travelers for its gorgeous green turquoise water, sandbank, and walk on shore.

Enjoy your escape in the middle of nowhere. Be free to move, dance, swim and admire. Build your best memories in a place where the beach is fabulous and where the ocean is calling you. On the small main island, there is a lighthouse, it was built by Gustave Eiffel. Working formerly in the oil, he does not shine anymore, but impose his metallic tall figure. The lighthouse can be visited, you will enjoy a splendid view in 360°on the whole coast. In the shade of impressive secular mangoes, the house of the guard of the lighthouse was transformed into primary school.

After all the affairs on this island, we will leave for a one-hour sail trip to join Baramahamay’s stunning anchorage, a long arm of river very protected and nestled between a primary forest and mangroves. It is a great anchorage, where you can go and meet the inhabitants of a small fishing village.

Today we will have an early departure from Baramahamay to Nosy Kalakajoro, the first island of the splendid archipelago of Radama. On our way, we will make a stop in the middle of the trip on the “Vespal bank”. There, swim in the crystal clear water and in the late morning we will drop our anchor in front of the beach of Kalakajoro.

At the approach of this small island, one could believe the existence of paradise on earth, the water is of an astonishing transparency and once landed the feet sink comfortably in a dusty sand dazzling whiteness, The scenery is rough, wild and natural. Its coastal fringe has charm, this charm that nature knows how to render to the one who discovers it the first time.

Another great time to enjoy swimming and walking. The site does not seem populated. Some seeds of badam trees fallen on the foothills of the beach, begin to germinate, many shrubs are entangled there. Here, the raw, wild decor is natural. Modern man has not yet imposed his aesthetic and square concept on this generous and expansive nature. The relief and the intense vegetation of the island has surely attracted, for a long time already, some master naval carpenters, which one here, "foundi".

The bravest can climb to the top of the island by following a ridge trail. The panorama is superb, and the trip is really worth it. This island is also famous for these shipbuilding yards and one can admire the work of artisans who carve canoes and dhows with the aid of a simple adze.

After breakfast, we want to please you by going back to Russian Bay with stops in some paradise islands, having lunch, drinking, swimming time, relaxing under sunlight! The ocean is even more beautiful than emerald. After our luxuriate time under the sun, we will have lunch on board. Make of the most of your day by enjoying the magnificent ocean and the view!

Delight in this small paradise, swim and enjoy the snorkeling time to find out beautiful corals. We will arrive at the Russian Bay in the late afternoon, where we spend the night in serenity. Of course, dinner and overnight on board.

Early in the morning departure for Nosy Sakatia, the island of orchids. The so called Orchids Island is still unspoilt piece of paradise, offering excellent snorkeling, diving and moderate hiking.

Sakatia is known for its flowers but also it has many other riches. The inland is pretty hilly and it offers beautiful hikes, especially at higher elevations. It’s relatively untouched by tourism, so is the perfect place to hole up and enjoy the real Madagascar, away from the crowds, where there are no roads, only footpaths. Discover the chameleons, birds or rare medicinal plants that you will encounter during your day which naturally takes place under the sign of discovery. Everything is there!!! The smell of gasy toka (traditional rum) floats around the villages, invitation to a moderate tasting.

You can wander among the giant ferns, check out the birds and beasties, laze on the beach or don mask and snorkel and explore the underwater world for which the island is rightly famous. And if you’re a qualified or aspirant diver you’ve come to the right place.

Early departure for Nosy Tsarabanjina, splendid island bordered by white sandy beach (its Malagasy name means appropriately “island of white sand”) bathing in a crystal-clear water.

Nosy Tsarabanjina - an island paradise. Its mountainous silhouette, fringed by white sand beaches loos up on the horizon. This mountainous silhouette of forested hills, volcanic rocks and badamier trees is fringed by reefs housing dolphins and green turtles, with humpback whales visiting from July to August. Its luxuriant vegetation includes baobabs and pachypodium. You can observe the sunset on the Frères islands with a ballet of frigate birds, northern gannets and white-tailed tropicbirds.

On land, you can admire a rich vegetation interrupted by volcanic rocks and visit a Sakalava cemetery built in a big cave. Fish eagle, heron, water hens build their nests on this island.

By leaving Tsarabanjina, today we heading to Mitsio islands, to the north-west, the "4 brothers" are getting closer. These 4 characteristic volcanic monoliths, form a quadrilateral emerging from the surface of the sea. In certain angles, their alignment is perfect. These rocky domes with steep walls prohibit access to their summits. They provide an ideal shelter for thousands of birds and a nesting site for hundreds of families of brownheads, white-tailed phaetians, frigates, and tail straws.

After passage the 4 brothers, we will head to Nosy Ankarea an elevated basaltic island, edged by white sand where a woodland path leads to a big rock’s top, where the view on all the archipelago is breathtaking.

This site is the highest island of the archipelago with a summit culminating at 238 m. The uninhabited island presents a flat summit emerging from the ocean, like a warship. Its dark and massive silhouette remains much vegetated. Although seeming difficult, his ascent, with a good pair of sneakers, is achievable by its southeast flank. A flight of flying foxes (Pteropus rufus) with shrieking screams the top of the cliffs. These bats, also called fanihy, are frugivorous and harmless. Its summit and its steep walls shelter a real forest of exceptional endemic vegetation (pachypodium, hildegardia, euphorbia, baobabs...). Erosion has created small shallow natural pools with rounded shapes. Underwater exploration presents remarkable conditions.

In the late afternoon, at sunset, the time of the aperitif, we join our sheltered anchorage of the bay of Maribe, west of the great Mitsio. Some fishing boats certainly will offers us to cook a roast goat on the beach. Comfortably settled on mats around a campfire, this improvised grilled is delicious. This festive and authentic atmosphere will allow us to meet the inhabitants of the island (Antakarana fishermen and Sakalava breeders).

Discovery of the Grand Mitsio: On the splendid beach, you can go for a walk in a pachypodium forest while visiting interesting vestiges of ancient Sakalava and Antankarana tribes: on the southwestern end of the island there is a geological formation of black basalt in a sequence of geometric drawings of “organ’s pipes”. In the afternoon, departure for Nosy Lava, volcanic island edged by rocks rising almost vertically from the sea, joined to the land by a sandbar. Nosy Lava is the northernmost island of the Mitsio Archipelago in Madagascar. The island is 3,5km long and 1,5km wide and covered by vegetation. The highest point is 160m. At low tide a beach stretches along the northern part of the island.

Nosy Lava (not to be confused with her namesake of Radama) has excellent snorkeling and fishing spots because of its steep coastline which allocate particularly the predators. The interior of the island have more difficult access, considering a dense vegetation.

Well hidden, a vast cave contains multiple sarcophagi containing the remains of Sakalava kings. The place is preserved and sacred. This visit is dependent on an invitation by the tribal head of Sakalava.

Departure from 7am for a sailing day, alternating regular and motor sailing. We will take advantage of these 8-9h to fishing along the coast.

After a good lunch on board, we will go ashore to visit an authentic fishermen’s village on the sacred island of Nosy Faly. An extraordinary moment of encounters and discovery of a way of life that is in total communion with nature and the sea.

This island of 10 km² offers on its east coast and it have a large bay lined with a beach of 3 km. Nosy Faly has kept its authentic character, its population is will welcoming us. The natural charm of its sites, its smells, its contrasts and its colors will fill you.

Nosy Vorona (Birds Island) is a small paradise islet, the size of two football fields. A concession was granted for the service of the lighthouses and radiobeacons, with the maintenance of a small lighthouse useful to the boaters, one of the only ones still in service in Madagascar.

At the end of the day, at sunset, we will arrive at Nosy Be. Today is the end of our cruise. Transfer to your hotel.

Nosy Be is the haven of peace received many qualifications from visitors, to indicate its beauty but it seems that the term “ paradise on earth” is best adapted to qualify the extremely rare beauty of this island, which means not easily seen from other parts of the planet. The other terms, like the pearl of the Indian Ocean, does not completely manage to qualify it because it does not evoke the width of its splendor.

The ocean, transparent and pure, is the most obvious part of its beauty. Waterfalls and sacred trees are also sites to come to admire, but the unmissable would be the sunset that you would observe at the top of Mount Passot.

What do I do once there? As said before: “Doing everything or doing nothing, both are great and possible.” Nosy Be has enough to do that you can fill many days here. Just enjoy your days; as usual we will take care of the all.

Today you will proceed to your transfer to the airport and prepare yourself for a safe flight to Antananarivo. Departure time depends on the day of the week. Transfer in your hotel in Tana.
